I just got back from a two day hiking/camping trip in the North Georgia Mountains on the Appalachian trail. I carried the Texas Defender in the Bond Arms sticky pocket holster in my front hip pocket while hiking for 12 miles over strenuous mountain terrain. I did not find the 20oz weight of this gun to be difficult to carry in the pocket at all, most of the time I didn’t notice the weight at all. I also think since this pistol is stainless steel and has less moving parts than other compact handguns that it will have a fewer malfunctions when exposed to rain and dirt in a outdoor environment. I have never had a problem with bears while hiking in the mountains, but the large caliber options for this handgun I think would appeal to people who like to carry some protection against bear attacks. It doesn't matter if you carry it in the city or the woods, Bond arms makes the best handgun on the market.
